The Toyota Urban Cruiser 2025 is an upcoming compact electric SUV that will mark Toyota’s re-entry into India’s fast-growing EV market. It is based on the Maruti Suzuki eVitara but will carry Toyota’s signature design, branding, and premium feel. This SUV will cater to urban buyers looking for a stylish, practical, and eco-friendly car with modern features.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Design and Dimensions
The Urban Cruiser EV will have a sleek and sporty design. It will get slim LED headlights, a clean chrome-accented front grille, and a muscular stance. The SUV will measure around 4,285 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. Toyota Urban Cruiser Battery and Performance
Toyota is expected to offer two battery pack options. The first is a 49 kWh pack with front-wheel drive producing about 144 PS and 189 Nm of torque. The second is a larger 61 kWh pack that will be available in both FWD and AWD versions, offering around 174 PS and up to 300 Nm. The AWD variant may even go up to 184 PS. The larger battery could deliver over 500 km of range, making it suitable for both city use and long-distance travel.

Inside, the 2025 Urban Cruiser will feature a premium cabin with a dual-screen layout. This will include a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It is also expected to offer ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, advanced driver assistance features, and premium upholstery. Toyota may also include a heat pump and pre-conditioning features to improve battery efficiency and comfort.
Launch Date and Price
The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is expected to be produced in India and launched in the second half of 2025. Prices are likely to start from around ₹20 lakh and may go up to ₹30 lakh, depending on the variant and features. With its combination of long range, modern technology, and Toyota’s reliability, it could become a strong option for those looking to shift to electric mobility.
