Škoda Auto India officially unveiled the updated Kushaq in India on 20 January 2026, strengthening its SUV lineup for the Indian market. The refreshed Kushaq brings multiple design updates, new technologies and additional standard features, while continuing Škoda’s focus on delivering European engineering adapted for Indian driving conditions.
The 2026 Škoda Kushaq adopts elements of Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, giving the SUV a more contemporary and robust look. The front design has been updated with a redesigned grille featuring chrome ribs and an illuminated light band. New LED headlamps, front parking sensors and LED fog lamps further enhance the front profile. At the rear, connected LED taillights with sequential indicators are paired with illuminated Škoda lettering, improving visibility and road presence. Alloy wheels are now standard across all variants. The SUV will be offered in eight colour options, including new shades such as Shimla Green, Steel Grey and Cherry Red.
For the first time, the Monte Carlo trim is available from launch, offering a sportier design option for buyers. The updated Kushaq retains a ground clearance of 188 mm, ensuring it remains well suited for Indian road conditions, including rough and uneven surfaces.
Under the bonnet, the 2026 Kushaq continues with turbocharged petrol engines across the range. A key highlight is the introduction of a segment-first eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission paired with the 1.0 TSI engine. This engine is also available with a six-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5 TSI engine is paired exclusively with a seven-speed DSG transmission and features Active Cylinder Technology. Models equipped with the 1.5 TSI also come with disc brakes on all four wheels.
Inside the cabin, the updated Kushaq places strong emphasis on comfort and practicality. A new panoramic sunroof, dual-colour ambient lighting and six-way electric front seats with ventilation enhance the overall cabin experience. The SUV offers a boot capacity of 491 litres, expandable up to 1,405 litres, making it suitable for both daily use and long journeys. Climatronic automatic climate control and an electric sunroof are now standard features.
Technology has also been upgraded. The Kushaq features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. An AI-powered voice assistant enables hands-free control of various vehicle functions and is designed to recognise Indian English accents for improved usability.
Safety remains a major focus in the 2026 Kushaq. The SUV meets five-star Global NCAP safety standards and offers more than 25 active and passive safety features as standard across all variants. Higher variants include over 40 safety features, including six airbags, rear wiper, rear defogger and automatic rain-sensing wipers, ensuring safety across different driving conditions.
With pre-orders now open in India, the updated Škoda Kushaq marks another step in Škoda Auto India’s expansion strategy and reinforces the brand’s commitment to the Indian market.
