Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Coming in January 2026: Full Details Inside

Mahindra is preparing to launch the much-awaited facelift version of its premium SUV, the XUV700, in January 2026. This update marks a significant design and feature refresh for the SUV, which has already become a best-seller in the Indian market since its debut. With prices expected to start around ₹15 lakh and go up to ₹26–28 lakh for top-end trims, the facelifted XUV700 is set to offer more style, tech, and comfort while retaining its powerful and reliable performance.

On the exterior, the facelift will get a bolder look with several visible upgrades. The front fascia will feature a split dual-pod LED headlamp setup with updated LED DRLs, giving it a sharper and more futuristic appeal. The front bumper has been redesigned for a sportier and more muscular stance, while the grille now looks more aggressive and premium. The rear of the SUV will have a newly styled bumper and a connected full-length LED tail light bar, adding to its modern design language. New diamond-cut alloy wheels will also be introduced, possibly in 18- and 19-inch options depending on the variant.

Inside the cabin, Mahindra is taking a giant leap forward in technology. One of the biggest upgrades is a three-screen dashboard layout, similar to what Mahindra previewed in its upcoming electric SUVs. The setup will include a fully digital instrument cluster, a larger infotainment touchscreen, and an additional co-driver display screen, all embedded in a seamless panel. The system will run on an updated user interface with enhanced responsiveness and connectivity options like 5G-based eSIM support, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and possibly connected car tech via AdrenoX AI.

In terms of comfort and convenience, the facelift is expected to introduce ventilated front and second-row seats, powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, and rear sunshades. Mahindra may also introduce automatic parking assist, a 360-degree camera with improved resolution, and Level 2 ADAS features with better calibration and more Indian-road-specific tweaks.

For the engine and performance, there will be no changes as Mahindra will continue with its trusted 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 200 PS and 380 Nm, and the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine tuned for 185 PS and 420–450 Nm depending on the variant. Both engines will come mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The diesel automatic will also continue offering an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option, which is a key differentiator in this segment.

From a safety perspective, the XUV700 facelift is expected to retain its 5-star Global NCAP rating, with six airbags as standard and advanced features like driver drowsiness detection, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring.

The facelift is being tested across India and has already been spotted multiple times in camouflage, including in Bangalore and Pune. Reports suggest that Mahindra has almost finalized the production-spec version, and official teasers are expected by late 2025. Deliveries could begin by February 2026, shortly after launch.

With rivals like the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser 7-seater getting stronger, Mahindra is gearing up to defend its dominance in the mid-size 7-seater SUV space. The facelifted XUV700 will be a significant update, not just a minor cosmetic change, making it an attractive option for SUV buyers looking for premium design and advanced features in 2026.
