The Suzuki e Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s first mass-produced electric SUV, revealed globally in 2024 and expected in India by March 2025. It marks Suzuki’s major entry into the electric vehicle segment, built on a brand-new skateboard platform developed with Toyota. The SUV will be made in Gujarat for both domestic sales and exports. Toyota will also sell it as the Urban Cruiser in some markets.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Design & Dimensions
The e Vitara follows the design language of the earlier eVX concept, giving it a modern and strong SUV look. It measures around 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and ground clearance of 180 mm. The SUV features LED headlights, connected tail lamps, body cladding, and stylish rear door handles placed high on the C-pillar.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Platform & Powertrain
The SUV is based on the Heartect-e EV platform and uses advanced eAxle technology that combines the motor and inverter in a compact unit. It will come with two battery options — a 49 kWh pack producing 144 PS and 189 Nm torque, and a 61 kWh pack with 174 PS. The top version will feature a dual-motor 4WD system called ALLGRIP-e, making 184 PS and up to 300 Nm torque, with a special Trail Mode for better off-road grip.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Range & Performance
The 61 kWh version is expected to give a range of over 500 km in Indian driving conditions. In global testing standards, the range could be close to 550 km, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs in its class.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Interior & Features
Inside, the e Vitara gets a premium look with two large digital screens — one for infotainment and another for the instrument cluster — placed on a floating centre console. It will offer a two-tone interior, Level-2 ADAS, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, an electronic parking brake, and advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Launch & Pricing
The Suzuki e Vitara is expected to launch in India between March and September 2025. Pricing is likely to start from ₹20 lakh and go up to ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a strong competitor in the premium compact SUV segment.
